Garage Door Maintenance

A garage door is the largest moving object in most homes. A door system must be properly adjusted and maintained on a regular basis in order to function safely and efficiently. (Problems that can occur over time include: lack of lubrication puts additional strain on a garage door leading to premature failure, poor weather-stripping causes heat loss, which can increase energy costs, etc.)

Lube & adjust the tracks, rollers, and hinges.
Lube springs & adjust spring tension to ensure proper functionality. **
Check the mechanical components (i.e., chains, pulleys, rollers, hinges, etc.) for signs of wear.
Inspect weather seal around the door and bottom seal of the door to ensure it makes a tight seal when closed.

**Warning!! Springs, cables, and other hardware attached to the springs are under extreme tension and should only be adjusted by qualified individuals.
